Anika Gahun is a Practicum Intern Therapist in the Stony Plain and West Edmonton locations.
Anika is currently pursuing her Master of Counselling degree from City University and is a practicum intern therapist at Schaffer Psychology till June 2026.
As you are contemplating therapy, Anika recognizes that it can sometimes feel overwhelming or even carry a sense of shame. Anika’s goal is to ease any concerns you may have by creating a supportive and culturally sensitive space where you feel safe and respected. In our sessions, Anika strives to build a warm and welcoming environment that allows you to show up authentically as yourself and work toward your therapeutic goals at your own pace.
Anika work with children (8+), adolescents and adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, self-criticism, family or relationship conflict, identity struggles, and academic or career transitions.
Anika has a particular interest in supporting clients from diverse cultural backgrounds. As a South Asian woman, Anika understands the complexities of balancing cultural expectations, family roles, and personal identity.
Anika is available by appointment. She offers a free 15-minute consultation to prospective clients. Her services are pro-bono to any community member that is accessing her and she is only available for a short period of time.
